Personal Lenses "Personal lenses" are perceptions and feelings based on your experiences, attitudes, emotions and values. blocking you from feeling the best part of you, your essence, your soul. Lenses distort your perception and are based on feelings or fears that once were valid but no longer are relevant. Some lenses are positive but many are negative. The negative thoughts and feelings are "mindfields" that you have placed in your mental path maiming you as you walk through life. They cripple your ability to live as productive and fulfillin g a life as possible. It is the degree to which these lenses negatively interfere with your thought processes and positive communication that makes them a problem. Given a time-tested technique, you learn to "block, move and delete" these thoughts from your mind.
How You Process Information How You Process Information informs you of the three mental processes necessary for communication: perceiving, comparing/formulating and responding. You learn to take the necessary time in each mental process and don't become reactive to others. With the use of resourceful charts, you plot the nine problems that can occur in these processes that reduce the effectiveness of your communication. You learn how to eliminate the nine obstacles to remain proactive, reduce fi llers such as "okay," "you know" and "uummmm." Improvement of the nine pitfalls leads to more effective mental processing and more successful communication with others.
